Reindeer Food
Christmas is an exciting time for Tamariki as they prepare to spend time with family, decorating the Christmas tree, visits and photos with Hana Koko, and presents of course!
December is a great time to spread Christmas cheer with activities and here’s one the whanau can easily make.
Treat Santas Reindeer with this yummy Reindeer Food Recipe.
Ingredients
1 Cup of Oats
1 Cup Rice
Red and Greed Food Colouring
Gladwrap Sandwich Bags
You can also add Seeds or Nuts of choice if you’d like.
Method
Separate rice in half and add to 2 glad wrap bags
Add a couple of Red Food Colouring drops to one bag, and greed food colouring to the other bag.
Shake bags until rice changes colour. Then add to seperate bowls and allow to dry.
Once dried - mix with oats in a bowl.
Decorate by adding to cellophane bags and tieing with Christmas Ribbon, or to empty baubles.
Sprinkle on Lawns on Christmas Eve with Tamariki so the Reindeer have something to eat when Hana Koko visits.
